Vincenzo Cutello is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Catania (since 2001), Department of Mathematics and Computer Science . He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from New York University (1990) and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of Catania (1989). He had visiting professor positions at George Washington University (2015–2017), Washington D.C., Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, NY (1996–1997), and postdoctoral position at the International Computer Science Institute, Berkeley (1991). His academic leadership includes chairing undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs at the University of Catania. He has worked on Computational Logic, Fuzzy Logic, Swarm and Evolutionary Intelligence. His current research interests fall into the general area of Algorithms and Evolutionary Algorithms for Combinatorial Optimization Problems.
At ELICSIR, he is a mentor for the Orthogonal School.
